Who is Beaches Runner?

The Beaches RunnerWelcome to the Beaches Runner Blog. This is the successor to my ‘Running With Scissors’ blog.

So, here we are.

I like to focus  on gathering and sharing useful information like healthy food and lifestyle options for everyone, not just runners. As always, I will speak from experience as well as from input from you, the reader, so please, I encourage you to comment on any of the posts with any advice and information you may feel is fitting, and if you see a good post out there somewhere, share it with me please!




I eat therefore I run. Seriously,  I love to eat. Wine is nice too. And a good pint, all kinds, I am not particular. As for the wine, I stick with Shiraz for the most part. So that’s why I run. That and I love to race, mostly against myself and the distace of 42.2km. But any distance will do.

Yes, I’m an avid runner living in the Beaches Area of Toronto. I say Beaches Area but since we moved a bit east, we are now no longer officially ‘Beachers’  — still, at heart we are and always will be. Most of the running we do ends up being on the lovely streets of the Beach and the Boardwalk. I love the Beaches! Yes, The Beaches, not the Beach. I know the Business Association took a vote and ‘The Beach’ won but there is in fact a number of beaches – Kew Beach, Balmy Beach, Woodbine Beach etc. Add them up and you get ‘Beaches’. ‘Nuff said.
